“Band to watch: They could serve as the soundtrack to pretty much anything” – Stereogum
Melbourne’s “future soul” band HIATUS KAIYOTE announces their US tour, kicking off in Las Vegas on July 25th including stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City, Miami and others. In addition to headlining club dates they will open up for Erykah Badu and D’Angelo in Columbia, MD and Detroit, MI and for Shuggie Otis in New York City at Central Park’s Summerstage.
A new version of the band’s debut album Tawk Tomahawk, featuring Q-Tip, will be available digitally on July 16 and physically on July 30. Their music has been described as a fusion of jazz, hip-hop, electronic, opera, rock and soul.
“Music has always been medication to us,” lead singer Nai Palm explains. “It’s a force for self-healing that we’re ready to share with the world.”
